Description:
This course will provide you with an overview of suicide risk factors and supporting research so that you can develop a systematic and comprehensive suicide risk assessment. In this article, we identify modifiable risk factors as well as nonmodifiable risk factors. We examine the risk factors that are found most often in those who are at imminent or acute risk for suicide as well as those found in those at long-term risk for suicide. And, finally, we identify key protective factors that should be part of any meaningful suicide risk assessment.
