Training Title: Addictions: Medically Assisted Recovery

Objectives: At the completion of this program, participants should be able to:
• Understand the factors involved in the need for a MARC program
• Know the benefits and limitations of Suboxone in the treatment of opiate addiction
• Know basic pharmacology of Suboxone which enables it to be a healthy tool in the treatment of opiate addiction
• Understand the importance of ongoing treatment intervention and recovery support IN ADDITION to the use of Suboxone in the treatment of opiate addiction
• Obtain knowledge of potential resources if further knowledge is needed or questions arise
Description: This course will address Addiction trends particularly related to opiate dependence, the increase in the use of heroin and prescription medication, the difficulties in treating opiate addiction, and recent advances in the field to enhance and improve treatment outcomes.
