• Cite factors that determine medication adherence.
• Recognize the potentially adverse results of not taking medication.
• Identify workable solutions to aid in medication adherence
Description: This course presents an overview of psychiatric medications used in the treatment of psychiatric disorders. These medications are also referred to as psychotropic medications. We will cover categories of medication, therapeutic effects, side effects, precautions, and some of the issues associated with adherence to medication treatment. Module 4 focuses on natural remedies to mental illness and working with clients toward treatment adherence to prescribed medications and schedules.
