After completion of this course you should be able to: • Identify an individual’s legal rights. • Define related Human Rights terminology. • Identify an individual’s Human Rights related to their service record. • Recognize the individuals Human Rights in a residential setting. • Identify the provider’s responsibility if Human Rights are denied or limited. • Select from a list, the provider’s duties related to abuse, neglect or exploitation. • Identify exceptions to patient confidentiality. • Choose the appropriate steps in the formal complaint resolution process. • Identify the provider’s reporting requirements. • Differentiate between seclusion, restraint and time out.

Description:
This course will provide you with information about why human rights are important, and who is responsible for developing, enforcing and complying with the human rights regulations. In addition, the course will identify the individual’s rights and will discuss how the rights of persons served are assured.
